Graduate students Jing Yao Chen and Wei Wei are the first two recipients of the College of Engineering’s PPG Graduate Fellowship. The $12,500 awards are funded by PPG, a Fortune 500 manufacturer of paints, coatings and other materials.
Chen, a fourth-year graduate student in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, studies applied chemical engineering and materials science. Wei is in his fourth year in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and researches surface modification with polymer brushes.
