October 17, 2022 Mechanical Engineering is Bigger and Better than ever Written By: Caitlin Scott Departments: Mechanical Engineering Categories: Faculty Mechanical Engineering has wrapped up a transformative and unprecedented ’21-22 hiring effort in which we added nine professors to our ranks. In the process, we have greatly expanded our research and educational opportunities in data-driven approaches in ME, energy systems, energy storage and robotics. This hiring represents a significant investment on the part of the department, college and university, and we are thankful to Dean Robertson and our development team for their support. An important takeaway from the experience is how often candidates remark about the welcoming nature and strong collegiality they experience in the department. We’re so excited about all the new talent joining our ranks and look forward to innumerable new collaborations and opportunities.
